Frequently asked questions

How many exercises are in the database?

1035, merged from two openly-licensed datasets: Everkinetic's vector illustrations (CC BY-SA 4.0) and free-exercise-db's photos (public domain). Every entry has step-by-step instructions, a muscle map, primary and secondary muscles, equipment, and a difficulty level.

Can I filter by more than one muscle or piece of equipment at once?

Yes. Checking several boxes inside one group widens the results — check "Chest" and "Triceps" and you get exercises for either. Checking boxes across groups narrows them: "Chest" plus "Dumbbell" returns only chest exercises done with dumbbells.

Do I need an account, and does anything get uploaded?

No to both. The exercise index is a static JSON file your browser downloads once, and all searching and filtering runs on your machine. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Can I reuse the exercise illustrations?

The vector illustrations are CC BY-SA 4.0, so yes — with attribution to Everkinetic, and your version must carry the same licence. The photographs are public domain and carry no conditions. See the licences page for the full terms.
