Exercise data & image licenses

The exercise database is built from two openly-licensed sources. This page records what came from where, and the terms each one carries.

Illustrations — Everkinetic

The vector exercise illustrations come fromeverkinetic/data, licensed underCreative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International(CC BY-SA 4.0).

maratool recolors these SVGs to match its own palette. Under the ShareAlike term, those modified versions are themselves published under CC BY-SA 4.0 and may be reused on the same terms. The original artwork remains credited to Everkinetic. 266 exercise pages use this illustration set.

The recolored files live at public/exercises/svg/ in themaratool repository. A NOTICE file sits beside them (public/exercises/NOTICE.md) stating the same terms, and the repository's LICENSEcarves this directory out explicitly: the source-available terms that cover maratool's own code do not apply to it, and no additional restriction is placed on the artwork.

Photographs — free-exercise-db

Exercise photographs and much of the exercise metadata come fromyuhonas/free-exercise-db, released into the public domain under the Unlicense. No attribution is required; we credit it anyway. 769 exercise pages use this photo set.

Those files live at public/exercises/photos/ and are carved out of the repository license the same way — see theNOTICE file.
