How to use
- Enter age, BMI, AST, ALT, platelets, albumin, and tick the diabetes/IFG box if present.
- The NAFLD Fibrosis Score and probability band update instantly.
- Combine with FIB-4 — concordant low values reliably exclude advanced fibrosis.
Frequently asked questions
What is the NAFLD Fibrosis Score?
A non-invasive score (NFS) estimating the probability of advanced fibrosis (F3–F4) in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease from 6 routine variables.
How is the NFS interpreted?
< −1.455 makes advanced fibrosis unlikely; > 0.675 makes it likely; values between are indeterminate.
NFS vs FIB-4?
Both are validated first-line non-invasive tests in NAFLD/MASLD; they are often used together, with concordant low values reliably excluding advanced fibrosis.
What counts as impaired fasting glucose / diabetes here?
Tick the box if the patient has impaired fasting glucose or established diabetes mellitus — it contributes a fixed term to the score.
