What is SCORAD?

SCORAD (SCORing Atopic Dermatitis) combines disease extent (A), intensity of 6 signs (B), and subjective symptoms (C): SCORAD = A/5 + 7B/2 + C.

How is SCORAD interpreted?

Roughly: < 25 mild, 25–50 moderate, > 50 severe atopic dermatitis (maximum β‰ˆ 103).

How is extent estimated?

Percentage of body surface affected using the rule of nines (head/neck 9%, each arm 9%, etc.).

What is objective SCORAD?

Objective SCORAD omits the subjective component C (itch and sleep loss), useful when patient-reported symptoms are unavailable.
