How to use
- Select the band for each of the eight CRUSADE variables.
- The total score (0–100) and bleeding-risk band update instantly.
- Weigh against ischemic risk when choosing antithrombotic strategy.
Frequently asked questions
What is the CRUSADE bleeding score?
A score predicting the risk of major in-hospital bleeding in patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome.
How is the CRUSADE score interpreted?
Risk bands: ≤ 20 very low, 21–30 low, 31–40 moderate, 41–50 high, > 50 very high probability of major bleeding.
How is it used clinically?
It informs the bleeding-risk side of the ischemia–bleeding trade-off, e.g., choice and intensity of antithrombotics and access site.
Was CRUSADE validated for STEMI?
It was derived in NSTE-ACS; performance in STEMI and with radial access / contemporary therapy is less well established.
