Frequently asked questions

What is a color harmony?

A color harmony is a set of colors that look visually pleasing together based on their position on the color wheel. Common harmonies include complementary (opposite), analogous (adjacent), and triadic (evenly spaced at 120 degrees).

How do I find the complementary color of a hex code?

Enter your hex code, then select the Complementary harmony type. The tool rotates the hue by 180 degrees on the color wheel to give you the exact complementary color.

What is the difference between triadic and split-complementary?

Triadic uses three colors evenly spaced at 120 degrees. Split-complementary uses the base color plus two colors flanking its complement at 150 and 210 degrees. Split-complementary offers more subtlety.

Can I copy the generated colors?

Yes. Click any swatch to copy its hex value. RGB and HSL values are displayed below each swatch.
