How to calculate GPA on a 4.0 scale

How it works

  1. Add courses — name, letter grade, and credit hours.
  2. Grade points — A=4.0, B=3.0, etc. on standard scale.
  3. Weighted GPA — total grade points ÷ total credits.

4.0 scale

Uses the standard US 4.0 scale. Schools with plus/minus grading or 5.0 AP weighting may differ — confirm your institution's policy.
