When you need it
Typical scales: a microcontroller sleeps at 1–50 µA, an LED runs at 5–20 mA, a laptop charger delivers 3–5 A, and breaker interrupting ratings reach 10 kA. Each step on the prefix ladder is a factor of 1,000.
