When you need it
Quick anchors: 1 kgf = 9.80665 N exactly, 1 lbf = 4.448 N, and 100 N ≈ 22.5 lbf ≈ 10.2 kgf. When a spec says a button needs "3 N of actuation force", that is about 306 grams-force.
