How do I convert megabit per second to megabyte per second?

Why does my 100 Mbps plan download at 12 MB/s?

ISPs sell megabits; download managers show megabytes. 100 Mbps ÷ 8 = 12.5 MB/s — the numbers agree, the units differ.

What is the difference between MB/s and MiB/s?

MB/s uses decimal megabytes (10⁶ bytes); MiB/s uses binary mebibytes (2²⁰ = 1,048,576 bytes). 1 MiB/s ≈ 1.049 MB/s — tools like task managers often display MiB/s.
